Well Child Clinic
Did you know you can get your child’s immunizations done at the McAdam Health Centre as part of the Well Child Clinic?
What does this involve? As part of the clinic, the Nurse Practitioner will do a physical and developmental assessment. If there are any concerns, she will follow-up with your family doctor or pediatrician. Public Health will then administer immunizations. Following the immunizations (during the 15 minute wait period) you will meet with the Dietitian to go over any concerns, ask questions or get more information. An LPN from the Talk With Me program is also available, and will do a short assessment while you are in the waiting room. The total appointment time for the clinic is usually 45 – 60 minutes.
When does it take place? The Well Child Clinic is held in McAdam the fourth Tuesday of every month.
How do I make an appointment? Call the Health Centre at 784-6300 to book an appointment for regular immunizations (2, 4, 6, and 12 months, and before starting school – age 4-5 years old). Appointments for the Healthy Toddler Assessment (18 months) must be booked through Public Health (specify that you would like an appointment in McAdam).
