are happy to announce they will be starting a new

Chase the Ace of Hearts to improve our Community

beginning 8 March 2024

 

Jackpot for 8 March is Estimated to be $5,000.00.

Tickets will be available for purchase in three ways:

  • for sale in-person through the week during business hours at the Gun Dealer, J.H. Cook & Sons, and The McAdam Home & Building Centre. Ticket sales at these store locations will conclude at 12pm each Friday before that Friday’s draw;
  • For sale in-person at the Legion each Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm; and,
  • for sale by E-Transfer (chasetheace@mcadamnb.com) from 8pm Friday evening (after the draw) to 8pm Thursday evening the week before that Friday’s draw. Please ensure you add your e-mail address, name, and phone number with your e-transfer.

The ticket draw will take place in the McAdam Legion at 7:15 pm.

Funds earned from the lottery will be used by:

  • H&H to construct, in McAdam, a modern, purpose-built, single-story living facility consisting of 10 individualized apartments.
  • The McAdam Legion to modernize their kitchen facilities so they may better serve the community.
  • The Wauklehegan Manor to construct a sunroom for their residents.
  • The McAdam Recreation Council to build a roof over the Village skating rink.
  • The McAdam Elementary School to construct a new playground for the school and the community.

Our province of New Brunswick lottery license is no. 1731237 131 001 and is valid for one year from 2024-03-08 to 2025-03-07.

Chase the Ace Contest Rules

Note: The winning ticket holder does not need to be present at the time of the draw to win.

  • The cost of tickets: 1 for $5.00, 3 for $10.00 and 7 for $20.00.
  • Random ticket draw takes place at 7:15 pm – winner gets 10% of ticket sales from that event.
  • The winner of the evening draw will then select a sealed envelope containing a card, either in person or by phone, from the envelopes remaining on the board. If, after 15 minutes, the winner cannot be reached, a member of the sponsoring groups will be selected to act as the winner’s representative and that person will select a card on the winner’s behalf.
  • If the Draw winner selects the envelope containing the Ace of Hearts, they will also win the jackpot (including 40% of the week’s event’s ticket sales).
  • If the Ace of Hearts isn’t selected, 40% of the event’s ticket sales goes into the prize pot for next week’s draw.
  • The prize pot grows larger every week.
  • The contest continues with the same deck of cards until the Ace of Hearts is selected.
  • Once the Ace of Hearts is drawn – a new contest begins.
  • Each week the number of cards in the remaining deck decreases by one – the card selected.
  • There is no limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased for a draw.
  • Tickets may only be purchased by those physically in the Province of New Brunswick.
  • The winner will be given their winnings in the form of a cheque.

The McAdam Seniors Housing Complex is exploring the development of up to 30 small rental homes in McAdam. These homes will include front porches, back yards and be maintenance free. A government official will be at the meeting to answer questions.

Project: Demolition/Clean up and Removal of Debris (Garage Only)

Scope of Work: The contract shall include the supply and all labor, equipment, material, and services necessary to carry out the following work.

 

  1. The contractor shall remove the debris located on the site at 20 Beech Street in McAdam N.B.
  2. The debris from the address must be removed and taken to the Hemlock Knoll Waste Management Facility in Lawrence Station N.B.
  3. All footings and foundations are to be removed and excavated, areas shall be backfilled with clean fill and compacted. The site grade shall match existing.
  4. Must coordinate with the Village of McAdam the capping of any existing water and sewer lines. All costs are the bidder’s responsibility.
  5. Disconnection of electrical and telecommunication lines back to the pole.
  6. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all applicable permits to perform the specified work.
  7. The contractor is responsible for any damage to adjacent property, overhead powerlines, infrastructure, or street.
  8. Copies of all delivery slips from the landfill must accompany the final bill.
  9. Contractor to complete work by March 15th,2024

 

Note: The contractor must provide proof of liability insurance and WorkSafe N.B. compensation insurance when placing quotation.

New Brunswickers can now register damage related to Dec. 18-19 storm

New Brunswickers affected by the storm on Dec. 18-19 can report property damage by calling the Damage Report Line at 1-888-298-8555 or by registering online. Reporting damage to the government as soon as possible is an important part of the provincial damage assessment and recovery process. This reporting is essential to determining if the criteria for creating a Disaster Financial Assistance program has been met. The Damage Report Line is available between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The line will not be operational on Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. Residents are reminded to:
● Contact their insurance companies immediately to report damage.
● Take photos of damage to their homes or properties.
● Keep receipts of any repairs and replacement purchases.
● Log the number of hours of work undertaken for residents who are cleaning their own properties, or family members or those who have assisted in the cleanup of their property.
The deadline for homeowners, small businesses and not-for-profit organizations to report damages is March 25, 2024. Questions related to the damage-reporting process should be directed to the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization through the Damage Report Line.
