The Department of Natural Resources is expected to distribute rabies vaccine baits throughout the municipality in August.
Residents are asked to please note:
- Do not handle vaccine baits with bare hands. If contact occurs, wash your hands thoroughly.
- The baits are not expected to harm pets; however, pets should not be allowed to ingest them. If your pet eats a bait, it may experience stomach upset. Please contact your veterinarian if this occurs.
- Following bait distribution, residents are encouraged to keep dogs on leashes or limit their roaming for one to two weeks. This will give raccoons a better opportunity to find and consume the baits.
Thank you for helping support rabies prevention efforts in our community.
