Rising maintenance costs, a major water line break, and water tower repairs (about $800,000 combined) mean rates must adjust to keep our water safe and reliable. Pay within 30 days of billing to get a 2% discount.

🍂 Fall Clean-Up Week is coming, McAdam!
Mark your calendars: from Monday, October 5th to Thursday, October 8th, the Village Garage at 66 West Street will be open 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day for our annual Fall Clean-Up. This is your chance to get rid of the bigger stuff that doesn’t fit into regular curbside collection, and there will be someone on hand to help you unload.
A few things to keep in mind: this drop-off is for items outside normal curbside pickup, but we can’t accept vehicles or vehicle parts, paper and fibre products, leaves, brush, trees, bricks or concrete blocks, concrete pieces, asphalt, rocks, sand, gravel, or construction debris. Please also note that any garbage, building materials, or construction debris left at the curb during Clean-Up Week will not be collected.

Notice to Residents: 2026 Water Invoices
Your 2026 water invoice is ready. Stop by the Village Office to pick yours up in person, or if we already have your email on file, keep an eye on your inbox (and your junk folder, just in case). Anything not picked up will be mailed out through Canada Post on September 25th.

The Village Office is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (closed Wednesdays). Payments can be made in person, by phone, or online at mcadamnb.com/community/pay-your-bills.
A reminder for accounts more than 90 days past due: payment in full is required to avoid disconnection, and reconnection comes with added fees. If you’re facing a balance that’s hard to manage right now, please reach out. We’re glad to work with you on a payment arrangement, just visit the Village Office to get started.

The McAdam Recreation Department is looking to launch a Morning Program for Pre-K children this fall. Designed for children entering Kindergarten in September 2027, the program offers a supportive, play-based environment to help prepare them for school. If there are not enough registrants in that age group, 3 1/2 year olds will be considered.
The program runs in three 10-week semesters, held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a proposed start date of Tuesday, September 29, 2026. Cost is $150 per child, per semester.
At least 10 participants are needed to run the program, so the decision to move forward depends on registration numbers. If you’re interested in registering your child, let us know as soon as possible by calling 784-1400 and leaving a message with your child’s name, age, and your phone number, or by emailing recdept@mcadambnb.com.

NB Southern Railway’s annual vegetation management program is scheduled to take place between June 1 and September 15, 2026 along sections of the railway line, including areas near McAdam.
The program is carried out to help maintain safe and reliable railway infrastructure by controlling weeds, brush, and other vegetation along the rail corridor. Applications will be completed by trained and certified operators in accordance with Federal and Provincial regulations and approved permits.
As in previous years, identified no-spray and buffer zones within the community will be respected.

The Village of McAdam is hiring!
We’re looking for an Equipment Operator to join our team. This full-time position offers a starting wage of $26.03/hr (40-hour work week) with benefits under CUPE 770.
Applicants must hold a Class 3E Driver’s Licence, have a Grade 12 education, and experience operating heavy equipment. Training for Sewer and Water certification is provided.
