New Brunswick Public Health is monitoring a Covid-19 outbreak at Woodland Pulp in Baileyville Maine. 7 workers have tested positive to date. Woodland Pulp employs several Canadians who travel back and forth from the plant to St. Stephen and the surrounding area. New Brunswick Public Health is asking residents in the border region to be extra vigilant in their daily activities by avoiding large crowds where physical distancing cannot be maintained, wearing a mask in public areas and washing their hands frequently or using hand sanitizer.
This evolving situation reminds us all here in McAdam that Covid-19 remains on our doorstep and the disease is merely waiting for new unwary hosts. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available. Stay safe everyone.
