Protecting People, Pets & Wildlife in McAdam
The Government of New Brunswick will conduct an oral rabies vaccine bait program in McAdam this summer to help control rabies in wildlife.
What’s Happening?
Baits containing rabies vaccine will be distributed by vehicle and on foot.
Baits will be placed along roadsides, trails, and wooded areas.
These baits are meant for raccoons and skunks to help vaccinate them.
Important:
Please do not disturb or move the baits.
Pet Safety:
Baits are safe if your pets eat them, but pets and livestock still need vaccination injections by a veterinarian.
Mild stomach upset may occur if pets eat baits. Contact your vet if your pet eats multiple baits or shows symptoms.
