The inquiries continue to pour in and events are being scheduled almost daily, an indication of the interest and attraction the McAdam Railway Station holds as an unique National Treasure. Soon to open for the Tourist season, this icon located in our community will once again be the attraction to bring thousands of visitors to McAdam. Already some 25 tours and special events have been scheduled to take place at the National and Provincial Historic Site over the next three months.
Volunteers are now on site to prepare the station for visitors. Numerous new artifacts have been added to the displays as have pictures depicting railway heritage of more than a hundred years. An old pump organ has been added to the Waiting Room collection as once existed for church services held in the room in the early 1900's.
The rolled top oak desk once used by Thomas George Shaughnessy, the third President of the Canadian Pacific Railway, has also made its way back to the Station Dining room in McAdam, to a space it once occupied. This artifact was like many others originally placed at the Canadian Pacific Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Canada and then transferred from time to time to the McAdam Railway Station when considered surplus to the needs of the Royal York.
A restored Radio of early 1950's vintage has also been donated to the McAdam Railway Station Lunch Counter where it will not only be displayed but will provide some music, news, and entertainment, exhibiting its beauty and charm as an artifact of days gone by.
This past winter has seen numerous individuals contribute relevant historical artifacts, pictures and even furnishings to the McAdam Railway Station. Thank you to all those who have helped refurbish and restore this National and Provincial Historic Site. Donations of artifacts are always welcome and sincerely appreciated.
Just like the original artifacts and furnishings there is also need for items to be purchased and placed in the station to compliment the displays, and to provide essential services. Many interested individuals and groups have asked us to identify where there is a need, in order that a contribution may be made. In order to proceed with our next phase of restoration work and at the same time continue to operate as a "choice of destination" to visit and hold functions the following items are needed:
4 Light Fixtures for the Maxwell Room @ $200.00 each
8 Side light fixtures for the Maxwell Room @ $100.00 each

The McAdam Historical Restoration Commision has strived for the continued preservation of the McAdam Railway Station since its conception and we're proud of the success to date.
Sections of the McAdam Railway Station now returned to vintage historical character will soon open for not just viewing, but likewise new space will be available for activities and events to be held. There's much more to be done and many challenges ahead. We believe this icon is coming to life, and with the continued interest and support from so many people, will see even greater restoration undertaken and life of days gone by soon rekindled in the McAdam Railway Station.
THE MCADAM RAILWAY STATION IS WELL ON IT'S WAY TO BECOMING A LIVING MUSEUM OF NATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE.
Thank you for your help, your interest and support. You are invited to be part of this wonderful experience.
Sincerely
