Gerald Gaines of Fredericton passed away April 7, 2004 at his home. Born in Toronto, Ontario, he was a son of the late Locklon and Helen (Walsh) Gaines. He is survived by a daughter, Amanda Gaines, Fredericton; a brother, Philip Gaines (Linda), McAdam; two half sisters, Mary Dale Knox, Toronto, ON and Brenda Gaines, McAdam; two half brothers, Terry and Michael Gaines, both of McAdam; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at St. Clements Catholic Church, McAdam on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at 11 a.m. Father Bill Brennan officiating. Interment will be later at Rockland Cemetery. Patricia Ann Gardiner

Patricia Ann Gardiner of McAdam passed away October 10, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Scarborough, Ontario in 1940, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jessica Williamson.

Patricia is survived by two daughters, Donna Dickinson (Joseph), McAdam and Loretta Gardiner, Toronto, Ontario; three sons, Alfred Gardiner (Geraldine), McAdam, James Gardiner (Theresa), McAdam and Shane Gardiner (Deanna), Toronto, Ontario; seventeen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Gardiner and a brother, Ronald Williamson.

Resting at St. Paul's United Church of Canada, McAdam with visiting hours Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ellen Beairsto officiating. Interment will take place in Rockland Cemetery.

For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Patricia, the family has suggested a charity of the donor's choice.

At the McAdam Health Centre, McAdam, N.B., on Aug. 18, 2000, Mrs. Della Mae Gardner, of 1920 Rte. 630, St. Croix, N.B., wife of the late John Gardner, daughter of the late Robin G. and Mildred (McElroy) Taylor.
Survived by one son, Larry (Susan), of Mcadam, N.B.; one daughter, Carol (Merton) Livingston, of Illinois; one brother, George (Margaret) Taylor, of Fredericton, N.B.; three sisters, Bessie (Paul) Pelkey, of Hamilton, Ont., Berla Biggar, of McAdam, Maxine (Lorey) O'Donnell, of Fredericton, N.B.; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Rested at the Voice of Pentecost Church, Harvey Road, McAdam, N.B., from where funeral service was held on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Terry Kennedy officiating.  Internment in the Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, N.B.

Peacefully at Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., December 13, 1999, Rev. Eugene David Garrett (beloved Brother Garrett), of Andersonville, N.B.  Son of the late Granville and Lulu (Handlyn) Garrett, of Washington, U.S.A.  He was President of the Phillippine Ministerial Association.
Survived by his wife, Harriet (Moffitt) (Anderson) Garrett; three daughters, Ivy Jean Reid, of Livonia, Mich., Carol Joy, Mrs. Raymond Knapp, of Hong Kong, Becky, Mrs. Omar Dalumpines, of Philippines; one son, David, and his wife, Marilyn Garrett, of Lincoln, Neb.; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Garrett of Nebraska, Robert Garrett and his wife, Romana, of Hillsborough, Oregon; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at the Gateway Cathedral, West Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Thursday, December 16, 1999, at 2 p.m., with Rev. James Higgins officiating.  Internement at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, N.B.
Visiting hours will be  held at The S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, on Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Work of the Lord in the Philippine Islands would be appreciated by the family.

 

Bernice Elizabeth Gass

 

Bernice Gass

Bernice Gass passed away at the Chalmers Hospital on Dec 8, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Bernice was predeceased by her parents Harry and Alma Gass and her brothers Wallace, Elwood and Holly Gass. Bernice is survived by her nieces and nephews, Barb and Margie Gass, Lawrence (Carole) Gass, Randford (Jean) Gass, Marsha (Peter) Davis, Mary (Colin) Leslie, Robert (Betty Ann) Gass, Danny (Doris) Gass, Jill (Jacques) Bowman, Susan (Roger) Poirier, William (Rosalie) Gass, her sister in law Vercelia Gass and an aunt Emma Lister. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews and cousins. She will be missed by her faithful homemakers in McAdam.

Bernice was a retired nurse who spent her career at the Saint John DVA hospital, after retiring she came home to look after her parents. She loved to paint, travel and spend time at her cottage on Harvey Lake.

There will be no visitation. The Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec 12, at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s United Church in McAdam. Rev. Ellen Bearisto officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Rockland Cemetery.

Survived by her husband; three sons, Robert and his wife Betty Ann, of McCreary, Man., Danny and his wife Doris, of Winnipeg, Man., William and his wife Rosalie, of Petawawa, Ont.; two daughters, Susan, Mrs. Roger Poirier, of Oromocto, N.B., Jill, Mrs. Jacque Poitras, of Gatineau, Que.; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Starr, of Brantford, Ont.; several nieces and nephews.

Survived by her husband, Ian, daughter, Deborah Scott (Earl Sutherland), McAdam, NB, sons, Donald P. Gaynor (Shelley), Harvey Station, NB, Randy Gaynor and Mike of Halifax, NS, 6 grandchildren; Brigitte Gardner(John)of McAdam, N.B., Bradley Scott of McAdam, N.B., Blake Scott of McAdam, N.B., Lindsay Jackson(Dan) of St. Stephen, N.B., Sara Scott of McAdam, N.B, and Brandon Gaynor of McAdam N.B., 3 great grandchildren; Brody, Jordan and McKenzie, several nieces and nephews.

No visitation will be held by request.

A graveside will be held at the Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB on Saturday August 25, 2007 at 3 P.M.

Eugene Garret Gillespie

Eugene G. Gillespie of McAdam passed away July 11, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Harvey Station in 1950, he was a son of the late Roy and Virginia (James) Gillespie.

Eugene is survived by a daughter, Jenny Lynn Messer, McAdam; a grandson, Dawson Messer; two sisters, Twilla Featherstone (Rev. Edwin) and Bonnie Charters, both of Schertz, Texas; three brothers, Donald, Saint John, Larry (Mary Ellen), Woodstock and Wendell (June), McAdam; his step-mother, Josie Gillespie, Harvey Station; three step-brothers, Glenn, Paul and Peter Thompson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Wednesday 7 to 9 and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 15, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Terry Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.

 

Joy (Wright) Gillmor

Section 6

The death of Joy (Wright) Gillmor, age 55, of St. Stephen, N.B., occured on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.  Born in St. Stephen, N.B., she was the daughter of  the late Ivan and Joan Phillips of McAdam, N.B.  Joy is survived by her two children, Ken Wright of Vassalboro, Maine and Andrea Astorino and her husband, John Paul of Waasis, N.B.; two grandchildren, Timothy Wright of Alexander, Maine and Benjamin Astorino of Waasis, and her beloved Dachshund, Mikey.  She is also survived by four brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews.  A memorial gathering will take place at River Valley Funeral Services, 50 Avonlea Court, Fredericton, N.B., on Friday, March 14, 2003 at 6:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund would be appreciated by the family.

The death of Dorothy Theresa Godbout of McAdam, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, New Brunswick on March 16, 2006. She was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Molly) Callahan) White.

Predeceased by her husband, Albert Godbout and brother, Ronald White.

She is survived by daughters, Terry (Garnett) Charters of Harvey, NB, Debbie (Clay) Christie of Langley, BC, Ann (Mike) Donahue of Harvey, NB, Gaitanne Gillespie of Saint John, NB, Kim (Patrick) Wisniewski of McAdam, NB, Christine (Terrance) Messer of Prince William, NB and Yvette (Gordon) Bailey of Minto, NB; sons, Teddy (Elizabeth) Godbout of Fox Creek, Ab, Benny (Kim) Godbout of McAdam, NB and Johnny Godbout of McAdam, NB; sister, Sister M. Consuela of Portland, Maine; 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Robby Joseph Golding

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Rob J. Golding at his home in McAdam, NB. On June 1, 2006. Rob was born October 3, 1969 in McAdam, NB. son to Randy and Diane (Arsenault) Golding. Rob is survived by his parents, one sister Wendy (Shawn) Gallant, three nephews Taylor, Thomas and Tanner. Grandmother Pauline Golding, Several aunts, uncles and cousins. Rob had a very special friend Mary Alice Cleghorn.

Rob was predeceased by his grandparents Nelson Golding and Arthur and Eva Arsenault. Two aunts Carol Ann and Doreen.

Rob was a faithful employee with Lakeland Industries for several years, he loved his work making pallets and operating the air gun. Rob was a loving loyal friend to all participants. Rob was a man of many talents, he had a great love for his music abilities, he played many instruments all of which he taught himself by ear how to play. Rob was always eager to share his music with others.

Resting at the Rockland Drive United Baptist Church, McAdam NB. where funeral service will be held Sunday June 4, 2006 at 2 PM with Rev. Watson Williams Officiating. Rob’s family will receive friends at the church on Saturday June3, 2006 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

Stella Irene Green
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stella I. Green on February 2, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, at the Rocmaura Nursing Home in Saint John, N.B.

Born on September 6, 1920 in McAdam, N.B., the only child of the late Leo & Dorothy Reardon. She will be sadly missed by her family: son Bernard Bean (Janet) of Dieppe, daughters Margot Olsen (Emil) of Quispamsis and Suzanne Rawlings (Lawrence) of Rothesay. Stella is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Debbie McClure, Lisa Cox and Sandi Bean of Maine, USA. Brenda Lynn Mansbridge (Clarence) Dieppe, Crystal Palmer (Paul), Melody Mayberry (Duncan), and Tim Olsen (Maureen) all of Quispamsis, Tiffany Bastin (Geoff) Fredericton, Jeff Drake (Ghada) Montreal, Jennifer Grass (Jeff) Tide Head, N.B. along with 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Deborah Anne, her first husband, Armand Bean and her second husband, William Green.

Stella was a former R.N.A. having worked in the USA and Quebec before her marriage and she was later employed by N.B. Tel in McAdam while raising her family. She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her many acts of kindness, generosity and her gregarious nature. She loved her large extended family and enjoyed their many family gatherings.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. with visitation on February 6, 2007 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM followed by a Funeral Mass, at 2pm, at the St. Clements Roman Catholic Church in McAdam, N.B.

Remembrances may be made to the Rocmaura Foundation Inc, Parkinsons Society or charity of donor’s choice.
