Christine M. Moffitt of McAdam passed away May 29, 2005 at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam. Born in 1916 at Tweedside, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Swan. Christine enjoyed knitting and sewing and spending time at her cottage at Harvey Lake.
Christine is survived by three sons, Jack Moffitt (Ella) and Jerry Moffitt (Jane), both of McAdam and Jim Moffitt (Donna), New Minas, NS; seven grandchildren, Jim Moffitt (Marlo), Shelburne, ON, Scott Moffitt (Ghislaine), Ottawa, ON, Carla Hudson (Dale), Harvey, Liann Case (Dale), New Maryland, Amanda Moffitt, Jerrod Moffitt and Meighan Moffitt, all of Manitoba; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Louis Moffitt, two brothers, Earl and Lewis Swan and one sister, Carrie Moffitt.
Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Route 3, Harvey Station where visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Watson Williams officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allison Moffitt and Ernest Swan.
Active pallbearers will be Jimmie Moffitt, Scott Moffitt, Dale Hudson, Patrick Hudson, Timothy Hudson and Dale Case.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to make a donation in memory of Christine, the family has suggested a charity of the donor's choice.

She was fondly loved by family and friends.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Ethel McCartney of McAdam, NB, nieces, Bessie Colligan (Edward), Smithfield, NB, Linda Golding (Harry) Yellowknife, Pertice Moffitt (Paul) Yellowknife, Sharon Nason (Curt), Saint John, Sally Crate (John) Saint John, Debbie Doucet (Ken) Cole Harbour, NS, Mary Messer (Terry), Fredericton, Margaret Dorcas (Gerald) Christie Ridge, one nephew, Frank McCartney (Cathy) Christie Ridge and numerous grand nephews and nieces.Predeceased by her parents, brothers, Ralph, George and Maurice and one sister, Clara Tracy. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, McAdam Ladies Auxiliary #7, R Aid Group, She also volunteered for numerous services in the community throughout her life.
Resting at St. Paul’s United Church, McAdam, NB from where funeral service was held on Saturday April 23, 2005 at 2 PM. Interment at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB.

The death of Kenneth Amos Arsenault of McAdam, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital July 10, 2005. Born in Elmsdale, PEI, he was the son of the late Minerva Coughlin and Eddie DeRoches. Survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Ann) Arsenault; two sons, Kenneth Edward (Cathy) Arsenault of St. Croix, NB and Ira Arsenault of McAdam, NB; one daughter, Minerva (Ola) Porelle of St. Stephen, NB; and a very much adored five grandchildren, Jessica Porelle, Jaclyn Porelle, Kenneth Arsenault, Breanne Arsenault and Brett Arsenault. Also survived by two sisters, Anita Acorn of Keswick, ON and Norma Blair of McAdam, NB, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Ira Arsenault and a sister Leona Scott. Eugene G. Gillespie of McAdam passed away July 11, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Harvey Station in 1950, he was a son of the late Roy and Virginia (James) Gillespie.
Eugene is survived by a daughter, Jenny Lynn Messer, McAdam; a grandson, Dawson Messer; two sisters, Twilla Featherstone (Rev. Edwin) and Bonnie Charters, both of Schertz, Texas; three brothers, Donald, Saint John, Larry (Mary Ellen), Woodstock and Wendell (June), McAdam; his step-mother, Josie Gillespie, Harvey Station; three step-brothers, Glenn, Paul and Peter Thompson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Wednesday 7 to 9 and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday, July 15, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Terry Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.

Evelyn Pearle Piercy (nee Burke) of McAdam , N.B, much-loved mother of James Piercy (Patricia) of Fredericton and Janis Hynes of Manotick, Ontario at the DECH, July 24, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Born at Dumfries, N.B., May 13, 1920 the daughter of the late James W. and Gladys Burke, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Franklin B. Piercy, her parents, brothers Gerald and Kenneth Burke, and a special niece Anne Marie Farrell .
Evelyn is survived by her two children , sister Beverly Dunbar of Fredericton, grandchildren Erin Hynes, Grace, Anna, James, Jack and Julia Piercy , close family friend Carole Moult of Ottawa and several nieces and nephews.
She received her early education at public schools in Manchester Connecticut, and Dumfries N.B, and graduated from the Provincial Normal School in 1939. She greatly enjoyed a rewarding career teaching elementary grades in Harvey Station and McAdam schools over a 33 year span. A talented pianist and organist, she taught music, played for community events and served as organist for many years at Saint Paul’s United Church in McAdam.
She was also active in her church as a member of the UCW , Presbyterial Board, and the church choir. She was a member and Past Officer of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In recent years, she enjoyed an active retirement with her family at home and at the cottage at Harvey Lake where her presence will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Paul’s United Church in McAdam at 2 P.M , Wednesday July 27, with interment immediately following at the Rockland Cemetery.
A reception will be held at the Church Hall for family and friends. In Lieu of flowers, a gift of remembrance may be made to the Saint Paul’s United Church Memorial Fund, 5 Lake Ave., McAdam, NB, E6J 1N5.

Margaret Beatrice Spinney |
Margaret B. Spinney, formerly of McAdam passed away August 21, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born in Fosterville on July 8, 1920, a daughter of the late William H. and Jane Emma (MacKay) Gaskin. Margaret was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Canada in McAdam when her health permitted. For the past two years she has been a resident of Swanhaven in Harvey Station. She was a member of the Harvey Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed playing bingo at the Lions Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Christie (Artie), Harvey; two granddaughters, Eileen Cairns (Marc Mazerolle) and Jennifer Toner (George) both of Harvey; three great grandchildren, Tara Toner (Casey O'Brien), Markham, ON, Derek Toner, Harvey and Alissa Cairns, London, ON; one great great grandson, Denver; several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Henry A. Spinney in 1980 and by several sisters and brothers.
